On May 18, 2000 the Chicago area was hit with the most severe storms I have ever seen. This page will provide a little coverage of these fearsome storms, and show you how they affected my life personally.
When I checked the weather channel in the morning before I left for work, it looked as though there was a really good chance for some heavy storms:
I checked in the afternoon, and there was a tornado watch area just
south of us. They also issued a severe thunderstorm warning for
our
immediate area.
One of the hardest hit areas was Palatine, although many Chicago suburbs had similar damage. Many people in the area were without electricity for days.
